Could Russia or China invade the USA?

Basically, are the air forces or navies of Russia or China strong enough to deliver an invasion force to US soil? Personally i think they would be annihilated before they made landfall but thats just me. And please no smarta ss answers explaining why it would never happen, i want to know if they could.
