New Windows 7 shutdown problems...?

When I turn off my Windows 7 computer, it gives me an error saying there is an application that is preventing it from shutting down, but the list is empty. It will show the list for a few seconds, the continue shutting down. It is a brand new laptop (by brand new, I mean, bought it new 2 days ago) and this is the first time I have gone online. It does this every now and then, but very frequently.
