Does Israel have nuclear technology?

Recently, an atheist friend of mine had mentioned that the Jewish Nation was similar to America in regards that the Jewish Nation is exercising great restraint against Her enemies; that the Jews had the technology to completely annihilate all who oppose Her in the Middle East. Is this so? My question is thus – Does Israel have the offensive nuclear technology capable of destroying nations? Does Israel have this level of tech? If the Jews do have such tech, my level of respect for them would greatly increase. Thank you for your time.
