Why wont my Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2 work?

i love playing star wars games(yes i know. STAR WARS) and when i saw KotOR 2 i knew i had to get it. i ordered it online. installed it. made my Jedi. and after the opening credits disappeared into space, it shutdown. i went into the configuration, scanned the game and it said: Video warning Unable to detect VRAM. and under Open GL it said failed. Required Non-Windows Generic OpenGL 1.4.0 Drivers. what does this mean? Will i ever find out what happened 5 years after the original KotOr?
